Scholars Academy is a top ranking rigorous school according to US News and World Reports throughout New York City, New York State, and the nation. Scholars Academy teachers and school staff make positive connections with students and families to ensure all Scholars thrive academically, socially and emotionally. The schools social emotional learning programs focus on fostering positive peer bonds, increasing cultural understanding, lifting student voice, and enhancing social-emotional well being. Scholars' Academy students learn through an inquiry, hand on approach while collaborating with group members and engaging in rich discussions. Scholars Academy teachers leverage a variety of online learning tools to develop their standards based, rigorous, and engaging curriculum. All students are supported in completing three high school Regents courses in middle school (Algebra, Living Environment, and Spanish) earning them several high school credits at the end of eighth grade. Students also select an elective class based on their individual interests and talents which meets twice per week.
