At Rockaway Collegiate High School (RCHS), our students are engaged in enriched college preparatory and early college access programs. Each aspect of our school emphasizes the four pillars of success at Rockaway Collegiate (Rigor, Character, Higher-Order Thinking, Success in College and Career). We offer a collaborative educational experience in which talented students are challenged by our nurturing staff to develop our students academically, socially, and emotionally. Rockaway Collegiate High School is a FutureReadyNYC school. Our students explore the business management field, specifically the areas of Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Business Communications, as we continue our goal of ensuring our students' success in college and beyond. Additionally, we now offer the FutureReadyNYC Pathway of Human and Social Services. The Human and Social Services Pathway helps to prepare students for careers in the human services industry, including social work, counseling, and mental health services. Students will develop meaningful employment-related skills through work-based learning opportunities. Students will be provided with opportunities to earn early college credits and business-related credentials. We also participate in the Performance-Based Learning and Assessment Networks (PLAN) Pilot as a Pilot School in Focus Area B: Inquiry-Based Approaches with Learner Profiles. Pilot Schools have been selected based on their vision, commitment, and readiness to implement a system of performance-based learning and assessment (PBLA). Lastly, we were selected to offer School-Based Virtual Learning Opportunities, which allow students to receive high quality virtual learning programs for instruction and related services.
