Montauk Junior High School: Empowering Future Leaders in a Diverse and Nurturing Environment Montauk Junior High School is a vibrant, inclusive learning community serving approximately 650 students who represent over 17 languages. Our small school environment allows us to provide personalized attention and foster strong relationships between students, teachers, and families. With a low student-to-teacher ratio and a commitment to academic excellence, we are proud to offer a wide range of programs that challenge and support our diverse learners. Academic Excellence and Opportunity Montauk JHS provides a robust academic program, including accelerated and Regents-level courses. Students in select classes take Algebra and Biology, with over 95% of students passing these Regents exams annually. As the host site for District Algebra Honors and Superintendent Classes, we provide accelerated pathways for students to earn high school credits in 8th grade. These include Regents exams in Algebra, Biology, U.S. History, and the Language Proficiency Exam in Mandarin. We are also proud to offer the AVID program, a nationally recognized college and career readiness initiative, which equips students with essential study skills and prepares them for rigorous coursework in high school and beyond. Real-World Readiness: Financial Literacy and Civics for All In preparing students for life beyond the classroom, Montauk JHS prioritizes Financial Literacy and Civics Education for all students. Our curriculum includes dedicated instruction in money management, budgeting, and financial responsibility, ensuring that every student gains essential life skills. Additionally, through the Civics for All initiative, students engage in meaningful exploration of civic duties.
