The High School for Youth & Community Development (YCD) has been designated the Model School for the Brooklyn Future Ready NYC (FRNYC) and Career Ready My Youth Apprenticeship (CRMYA) programs. We specialize in Data Science and Human Services pathways which are open to all students and culminate in an industry recognized certifications. Through FRNYC and CRMYA, students have access to a variety of Advanced Placement and college courses through our affiliation with Brooklyn and Medgar Evers Colleges. In addition, students are eligible for career-building and paid opportunities such as Work-Place Challenges, Internships, and a three-year apprenticeship program that pays up to $50,000+. YCD has industry partnerships with Google, Amazon, The City of New York, Counseling in Schools, CAMBA, Dinner Roll TV, and The Gowanus Music Club. We are one of the few High Schools that participate in the Arthur Ashe Urban Health Institute at Downstate Medical School. They provide training, enrichment, and scholarship opportunities to students interested in the medicine, nursing, dentistry, and other allied health professions. Regardless of a student's pathway, YCD has designed its pathway course sequences to provide the skills, college and career readiness, and the foundation for a successful postsecondary life.
