About this school
Public choice option that is not guaranteed by address and generally depends on district choice or broader application rules.
The Brooklyn Academy of Science and the Environment (BASE) is a small school that provides students with meaningful support as they develop academic, social-emotional, and 21st century skills. Through our founding partnership with Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG) and focus on the sciences, BASE students benefit from rich, experiential learning that takes education outside the four walls of the school. Our students access exclusive internships and job opportunities with organizations such as BBG, the Brooklyn Museum, and AIR Company. Students can participate in a full slate of PSAL sports, including basketball, volleyball, soccer, track and field, and swimming. We offer exciting extracurricular clubs including e-Sports, Cooking Club, Garden Crew, and Green Team. Administrators, teachers, and staff value student voice and seek to empower students to impact the school and their communities as they prepare for college and career.
